AngelEye LifeGuard was designed to ensure pool users’ safety, while maximizing the swimming facilities’ safety performance as a whole
Thanks to a video-surveillance system for the detection of dangerous situations,AngelEye is able to alert the lifeguards on duty in a fast and effective way, providing immediate and targeted help to the person in distress. The AngelEye system boasts several access tools and a number of control stands ("Consoles") that offer a constant view of all activities in the pools, especially in the most critical areas, such as the bottom and near the edges.
The AngelEye system enables you to monitor all activities carried out in the water, with the possibility of extending the video surveillance to open areas in outdoor pools (picnic and playground areas, green areas, relaxation areas).
AngelEye’s control system can be accessed either by the lifeguards, or other personnel in charge of watching over pool users, alternatively, by staff responsible for the facility’s video surveillance and security camera equipment. Video surveillance of the facility (CCTV) can also be remotized: access to the system can be granted to third parties or to AngelEye staff (outsourced service).
The AngelEye system can record all the activities performed in the pools and sort critical situations from normal ones in order to keep evidence of what happened.
Thanks to its advanced system for storing images, AngelEye fully meets the legislative requirements concerning personal data protection, in full compliance with Italy’s current Privacy Act. The dangerous situation detection features can be customized according to the specific needs of each swimming facility: specific configurations can be designed for every need and type of facility.
The AngelEye drowning detection system analyses all activities carried out in the water.
When cameras detect human bodies under the waterline, the system tracks the movement of the body and studies the person’s behaviour.
If the person does not move (except for oscillations) and remains in the drowning area for a period deemed critical (typically 10 seconds), the system sends a warning to the pool staff. If the critical situation continues, the system will alert the rescue personnel (alarm).
The AngelEye system boasts an "artificial intelligence" component capable of analyzing the behaviour of pool users and inferring possible critical situations: it assesses swimmers’ movements and determines if they are in danger of drowning.
Fed with information on hundreds of critical situations and behaviours in an ongoing way, the artificial intelligence gives the Angeleye system unprecedented reasoning skills.

AngelEye is now even more accurate and reliable thanks to a new technology for detecting drowning persons based on aerial survey cameras. The new detection system complements the already well established underwater cameras and is a must in the case of shallow pools with many bathers or very cloudy water.
The angel’s eyes monitor the pool from above and can integrate with the entire range of AngelEye products, both in new facilities and in facilities already equipped with an anti-drowning system.
AngelEye has become even safer thanks to the new feature for controlling access to the pools. A perimeter guarding feature has been designed to eliminate drawing hazards in pools that are either unattended or closed to the public during day or night time.
Access to indoor or outdoor pools during non authorized time slots will generate an alarm which will be sent either to lifeguards or – via phone call - to the security staff in charge of the facility.
AngelEye has developed the NRS service. It relies on a hardware as well software base: this is highly evolved (cloud) and is located in one of the most advanced and secure server farms in Europe.
The NRS service, which is connected to the servers installed at our customers’ pools, is constantly monitored in real time by our dedicated AngelEye staff. NRS is able to detect the variation of environmental conditions at each pool and to immediately adjust the configuration of alarm parameters; that way it achieves the best results both in terms of drowning detection and false alarms reduction.
AngelEye is able to detect those conditions making it tricky to spot potential drowning situations.
Cloudy water, sunlight and artificial light reflections or high numbers of people in the pool are the most common troubling factors.
Such conditions mean that the AngelEye system alerts the rescue personnel of the critical situation, demanding greater attention be placed to those areas currently not subjected to multiple automatic detection.
AngelEye’s new application module is able to constantly communicate with the components that are typically installed in a swimming pool; its function is therefore to prevent false alarms.
Factors that inhibit drowning detection are often to be attributed to equipment as well as accessories that have an influence on the visibility in the pool: bridges and moving floors, underwater lighting, blinds diffusing sunlight, etc.
